SLAS Limited Exam 2026: Applications Open for 40 Grade III Vacancies
A major opportunity has opened for eligible government officers seeking advancement to the Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLAS). The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government has called for applications for the Limited Competitive Examination for Recruitment to Grade III of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service – 2026.
A total of 40 vacancies are available under this recruitment.
The examination will be conducted by the Department of Examinations, with the examination scheduled for December 2026.

Educational Qualifications
Applicants should possess a degree awarded by one of the following:
- A foreign or State university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC);
- A university established by an Act of Parliament in Sri Lanka; or
- A degree recognized under Section 25A of the Universities Act No. 16 of 1978.
In addition to the educational qualification, applicants must have completed the required period of active and satisfactory service in the specified permanent and pensionable government service position.
The relevant service requirement includes either:
- At least 5 years of service under the specified salary codes; or
- At least 10 years of active and satisfactory service under the specified conditions.

Age Limit
Applicants must not be more than 53 years of age on the date on which they fulfill the required qualifications.
Accordingly, persons born on or after 28 August 1973 are eligible, subject to fulfilling all other requirements.
Number of Attempts
A candidate is not permitted to sit for this examination more than three times.
However, examinations taken under previous Service Minute or Service Scheme arrangements will not be counted when determining the number of attempts for this examination.

- ශ්රී ලංකාවේ පාර්ලිමේන්තු පනතක් මගින් පිහිටුවන ලද විශ්වවිද්යාලයක්; හෝ
- 1978 අංක 16 දරන විශ්වවිද්යාල පනතේ 25A වගන්තිය යටතේ පිළිගත් උපාධියක්.
මීට අමතරව, අදාළ ස්ථිර හා විශ්රාම වැටුප් හිමි රජයේ සේවා තනතුරේ අවශ්ය සක්රීය හා සතුටුදායක සේවා කාලය සම්පූර්ණ කර තිබිය යුතුය.

- නිශ්චිත වැටුප් කේත යටතේ අවම වශයෙන් වසර 5ක සේවය; හෝ
