MSO Grade III Open & Limited Competitive Examination 2026: Applications Open for Management Service Officers’ Service

Applications have been called for the Open Competitive Examination and Limited Competitive Examination for recruitment to Grade III of the Management Service Officers’ Service – 2026 under the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government.

The Ministry has published separate official notices for the Open and Limited examinations. The official Department of Examinations online application system also lists the Open Competitive Examination for recruitment to Grade III of the Management Service Officers’ Service – 2026, with an examination fee of Rs. 600.

Open Competitive Examination – 2026

The Open Competitive Examination is intended for eligible applicants who satisfy the citizenship, age, educational and other requirements specified in the official notification.

Age requirement

Applicants should be not less than 18 years and not more than 30 years of age as at 25 September 2026.

Accordingly, the relevant birth-date range is 25 September 1996 to 25 September 2008, subject to the conditions in the official Gazette.

Educational qualifications

Applicants should satisfy the educational qualifications specified in the Gazette, including the required G.C.E. Ordinary Level and G.C.E. Advanced Level qualifications.

The Open Examination notice specifies the required O/L passes and credit passes, together with the requirement to have passed the relevant A/L subjects in one sitting, subject to the detailed conditions contained in the official notification.

Applicants should carefully check the exact subject and sitting requirements before applying.

Other requirements

Applicants must satisfy the general conditions specified in the recruitment notification, including Sri Lankan citizenship, good character and the required physical and mental fitness to serve in any part of Sri Lanka.

Limited Competitive Examination – 2026

A separate Limited Competitive Examination has been announced for eligible public officers seeking recruitment to Grade III of the Management Service Officers’ Service.

The Limited Examination is not intended for members of the general public. It is for eligible permanent and confirmed officers in the Public Service who satisfy the salary, service, educational and other conditions specified in the Gazette.

The published eligibility information includes requirements relating to the applicable PL salary category or MN 1-2025 salary code, permanent and confirmed service, and the required period of satisfactory service.

Provincial Public Service officers should carefully check the Gazette provisions because the eligibility conditions for this Limited Examination are specific to the relevant public service categories.

Examination Structure

The written examination is conducted in Sinhala, Tamil and English.

Candidates must select one examination medium and answer the examination in the selected medium, according to the conditions in the official notice.

Salary

The Grade III Management Service Officer post is assigned to salary code MN 2-2025.

The salary scale specified for the post is:

Rs. 48,470 – 10 × Rs. 540 – 11 × Rs. 630 – 10 × Rs. 1,010 – 10 × Rs. 1,190 – Rs. 82,800

විවෘත තරග විභාගය – 2026

විවෘත තරග විභාගය සඳහා අයදුම් කිරීමට අපේක්ෂා කරන අය නිල ගැසට් නිවේදනයේ සඳහන් පුරවැසිභාවය, වයස, අධ්‍යාපනික සහ අනෙකුත් සුදුසුකම් සපුරා තිබිය යුතුය.

වයස් සීමාව

2026 සැප්තැම්බර් 25 වන දිනට අයදුම්කරුගේ වයස අවුරුදු 18ට නොඅඩු සහ අවුරුදු 30ට නොවැඩි විය යුතුය.

ඒ අනුව අදාළ උපන් දින පරාසය 1996 සැප්තැම්බර් 25 සිට 2008 සැප්තැම්බර් 25 දක්වා වේ. කෙසේ වෙතත්, අවසන් තීරණය සඳහා නිල ගැසට් නිවේදනයේ සඳහන් කොන්දේසි අනුගමනය කළ යුතුය.

අධ්‍යාපනික සුදුසුකම්

අයදුම්කරුවන් නිල ගැසට් නිවේදනයේ සඳහන් අ.පො.ස. සාමාන්‍ය පෙළ සහ අ.පො.ස. උසස් පෙළ අධ්‍යාපනික සුදුසුකම් සපුරා තිබිය යුතුය.

සාමාන්‍ය පෙළ විභාගයේ අවශ්‍ය විෂයයන් සහ සම්මාන සාමාර්ථ සම්බන්ධ කොන්දේසි මෙන්ම උසස් පෙළ විභාගයේ විෂයයන් සම්බන්ධ කොන්දේසි ද ගැසට් නිවේදනයේ විස්තර කර ඇත.

III ශ්‍රේණියේ කළමනාකරණ සේවා නිලධාරී තනතුරට බඳවා ගැනීම සඳහා සීමිත තරග විභාගයක් ද පැවැත්වීමට නියමිතය.

මෙම විභාගය සාමාන්‍ය ජනතාව සඳහා නොවන අතර, අදාළ සුදුසුකම් සපුරන ස්ථිර හා සේවයේ ස්ථිර කරන ලද රාජ්‍ය නිලධාරීන් සඳහා වේ.

අදාළ සුදුසුකම් අතර PL වැටුප් කාණ්ඩය හෝ MN 1-2025 වැටුප් කේතය, ස්ථිර සේවය, අවශ්‍ය සේවා කාලය, අධ්‍යාපනික සුදුසුකම් සහ විනය සම්බන්ධ කොන්දේසි ඇතුළත් වේ.

පළාත් රාජ්‍ය සේවයේ නිලධාරීන් තමන්ට අදාළ සුදුසුකම් නිල ගැසට් නිවේදනය අනුව විශේෂයෙන් පරීක්ෂා කළ යුතුය.
